🇫🇷 Young people, inform yourselves and demand transparency!
The Constitutional Council plays an essential role: its members check that laws comply with the Constitution. But their remuneration and the rules governing it must be understandable and open to scrutiny by all citizens.
Article 6 of the 1958 ordinance sets their allowance. An administrative decision in 2001 also introduced a supplementary allowance, whose legality has been challenged in court.
The question is simple:
👉 Should the remuneration of the highest public officials be clearly published?
👉 Should allowances be set by a law debated in Parliament?
👉 Should the accumulation of pensions and benefits be more closely regulated?
This debate concerns everyone: university students, high school students, employees, pensioners and taxpayers. Public money belongs to the citizens. They therefore have the right to know precisely how it is used.
Let us inform ourselves, check our sources and call for a more transparent democracy.
