Translation of the French article by Jacques Rouchaud
The media are announcing it: tomorrow will be a dead day for trade and the economy. Shopkeepers are worried, and they are told that the protesters are to blame. The president of CCI France has even called for “a pause” in the demonstrations so that shopkeepers can work.
But let us ask the real question: why are the shops already empty on the other days?
It is not the demonstrations that empty the shopping trolleys. It is purchasing power that is no longer up to the mark. Wages are stagnating, pensions are melting away, prices are rising. Families count every euro before pushing open the door of a shop.
And who is responsible for this? The princes and dictators of the republics, who have been managing our countries for decades without ever asking the opinion of those who work, produce and consume.
Shopkeepers and protesters are not enemies. They are victims of the same bad management. The baker, the farmer, the student, the retiree: they all pay the same bill.
With demosciocracy, it is the people and the trades who decide together, in the Chamber of the People and the Chamber of Corporations. Shopkeepers have their voice there. Employees too. No one decides alone from above any more.
A well-managed country is a people who can buy, and shops that live.
Long live demosciocracy!
