Translation of the French article by Jacques Rouchaud
School must prepare for life. In demosciocracy, the timetable of studies is modelled on that of working life, and holidays are staggered between the regions to balance departures.
1. Eleven months of study, forty days of holidays
As at work, every pupil and every student has 40 days of holidays per year, plus weekends and public holidays. The school year lasts 11 months, with one month of summer holidays. The holidays are divided as follows:
- summer: 4 weeks;
- Christmas: 2 weeks;
- Easter: 1 week;
- autumn: 1 week.
2. The 22 former regions in four groups
We take the 22 former regions, not the new ones. They are divided into 4 groups of about 16 to 17 million inhabitants each. Each group includes a southern region and coastal regions:
- Group A: Île-de-France, Picardie, Auvergne, Limousin, Corse;
- Group B: Rhône-Alpes, Languedoc-Roussillon, Centre, Haute-Normandie, Champagne-Ardenne, Franche-Comté;
- Group C: Bretagne, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Midi-Pyrénées, Poitou-Charentes, Lorraine, Basse-Normandie;
- Group D: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Pays de la Loire, Aquitaine, Alsace, Bourgogne.
3. Summer holidays over four months
The month of summer holidays is regionalised over June, July, August and September: one month per group. The Easter and autumn holidays are shifted by one week from one group to the next. At Christmas, so that everyone is on holiday on 25 December, departures take place over two weekends. Here are the proposed dates for 2028 (Saturday to Sunday):
| Group | Easter | Summer | Autumn | Christmas |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 1 – 9 April | 3 June – 2 July | 14 – 22 October | 16 – 31 December |
| B | 8 – 16 April | 1 – 30 July | 21 – 29 October | 23 December – 7 January |
| C | 15 – 23 April | 29 July – 27 August | 28 October – 5 November | 16 – 31 December |
| D | 22 – 30 April | 26 August – 24 September | 4 – 12 November | 23 December – 7 January |
4. Balanced departures
Apart from Christmas, never more than a quarter of the population is on holiday at the same time. Departures are balanced and the holiday season extends over four months instead of two.

5. A rotation every year
So that no group always has June or September, the summer month changes every year:
| Year | June | July | August | September |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2028 | A | B | C | D |
| 2029 | B | C | D | A |
| 2030 | C | D | A | B |
| 2031 | D | A | B | C |
6. The people decide
This calendar is only a starting proposal. Like everything else, it will be decided by referendum.
Liberty – Equality – Truth.
